Turning a training gap into lasting performance gains
New hires were leaving early and quality was slipping. We found the root causes, aligned the operations leaders, and built the tools to fix them.
Read the story
- Challenge
- New hires in a high-impact department were leaving early, quality errors were rising, and productivity lagged. Leaders tracked operations closely but had no way to tell whether training was working.
- What we found
- Interviews, operational data, and employee feedback pointed to four root causes: outdated procedures, system defects, inconsistent training practices, and low trust across teams. Fixing the training alone wouldn't have worked.
- What we built
- Standardized procedures with a governance process to keep them current. A feedback loop that turned recurring system defects into fixes. A simulated practice environment where new hires trained before going live. Trainer coaching and a tracking dashboard that flagged coaching needs early.
- What lasted
- Trainers kept using the practice environment, supervisors kept using the dashboard, and the procedure-governance process was adopted for rollout to other sites.
